Shared Finds: Peter Parnall

So I have been ninja spying on a particular serigraph at my local thrift store for a month now. It immediately caught my attention with its modern, bright colors, and sweet whale print. It also came matted in a cool matching metal frame. I've been secretly watching it, knowing that the price would reduce drastically in a month. It always made me a little nervous to check up on it. I probably would have been a little heartbroken if someone snatched it up.

Well... yesterday was the day that I was able to finally bring it home! And boy, was I excited! It's a Peter Parnall signed and numbered serigraph from 1979 of the "The Right Whale."

It has been hubby-approved, and I am proud to say it is now hanging happily in our hallway!

I did a little research on Mr. Parnall and am totally in love with his work. He's known for his book illustrations, and he tends to focus on habitats. To learn more about Peter Parnall, here's his Wikipedia entry and you can pick up prints at the Folger Gallery.
