Take a Seat

When we moved into our apartment, it had a wonderful, large window seat in the front bedroom. Ahhh, a perfect spot for sipping coffee and reading. I've always had a "thing" for window seats, and it was finally my turn to have my very own. Unfortunately it was as bare as bare could be for a window seat. With a little patience, I was able to find just the right pieces to complement the rest of the room.

BEFORE:
Empty & blah...

But wait! There's storage (plus 5 points!).

AFTER:
Much better... Luckily, I was able to find an alternative to making my own cushion which would have cost me $120 for the foam alone. I purchased a chaise lounger cushion on sale at Crate & Barrel with a giftcard leftover from the wedding. Still can't believe I found one with the exact measurements of the window space!

1. Big green retro outdoor patio pillow from Marshall's
2. Grey/yellow reversible modern pillow from Dwell Studio for Target

1. $1 store picture frame with sadly, no picture yet
2. Wooden skunk toy purchased on a trip in Brugge, Belgium
3. Mini felt turntable pillow made by me

Martha Stewart eyelet lanterns bought and never used for my wedding (I knew I could find a place for them!)

And me, enjoying my fake cup of coffee and snuggling up in my quilt lovingly made by my mother-in-law
